Crytek are working on the fourth Crysis game that won't be coming anytime soon judging by the teaser trailer.

Crytek has officially revealed that a new Crysis game is in development. The game was released with a brief teaser clip that didn't reveal much, but Crytek CEO Avni Yerli revealed some additional details in a blog post.

Crysis 4 is still in the early stages of development, so we won't see much for a while, but the team is enthused about the franchise's future and has been paying close attention to the Crysis community.

"Crytek has a proud history of working with our community to develop the games you want to play. Crysis is incredibly important to so many people – it’s beloved by gamers everywhere, and some of those working in the industry today are doing so because of the original game – so we want to make sure the next instalment in the franchise lives up to all of your expectations," Yerli writes in the blog post.

No platforms or a release date have been disclosed as of yet, but the company promises to provide more information as development keeps moving forward.

Finally, Crytek stated that there are more surprises in store for Hunt Showdown, their hardcore battle-royale hybrid. Expect to hear more about the new content later this year.
