Crytek are hosting a free weekend for their demonic wild west simulator, Hunt: Showdown, following a successful launch of South American servers. The free weekend has already begun on 09 August and will conclude on Monday, 13 August 2018.
Hunt: Showdown's free weekend will be running until 10:00 AM PT / 13:00 ET / 19:00 CEST on Monday, meaning there are still good three days ahead of us to try the game out. Should a player take a liking to the game, they will be able to grab it on a 20 per cent discount on Steam .
While the free weekend event happened around the same time as the addition of South American servers, the latter doesn't seem to be the reason for the event. Crytek have announced that a new set of six Steam trading cards will be added during that time.
Do note that Hunt: Showdown is still in Early Access, so don't expect a polished game just yet, which is all the more reason to try it out for free before making a decision whether to buy it. Potential players can do so on the official Steam page.
Speaking of which, around 13.700 players have reviewed the game on Steam, with 72 per cent reviews being positive. Reviews from the past 30 days look a bit better though, as there are 75 per cent positive ones, out of 1200 total.
The game is still receiving new content and optimisation updates and according to Crytek, they will continue to provide such updates until the official release. There is no talk about post launch content yet, as it would be rather silly to plan for it before the game even reaches launch-ready state.
For those unacquainted, Hunt: Showdown is PvEvP game where up to 10 bounty hunters set out to kill dangerous prey, and then need to leave the map with the spoils. From the moment someone kills a target creature, the game shifts into battle royale mode and every man is for himself.
