Valve released Counter-Strike 2 to pretty much everyone who plays Competitive and now the rest of the players are getting the update rather soon.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is getting replaced on September 27, 2023, with the new version that will bring a few improvements and hopefully not mess up like Overwatch did.
The news comes from the company's official Twitter account, although it is not an open confirmation.
In a playful manner, the Counter-Strike account posted a question about what everyone is doing next Wednesday, hinting strongly that the time has finally come to release the game officially.
This comes shortly after the teaser from the 20-year anniversary graphics that teased CS2 is "coming soon" so there is barely any room for doubt.
Some of the highlights from the update include better and more reactive smoke grenades. The smoke will properly move around certain covers and obscure areas more effectively but will also receive certain counters.
For example, small holes will show when bullets fly through the smoke screen and detonating a High-Explosive grenade in the area will disperse the smoke entirely.
On top of that, the buy screen is getting improved as purchasing with mouse clicks will be much quicker now that the wheel is going away.
