At one point, The Day Before was the most wish-listed game on Steam, but it's safe to say that since then, the hype for Fntastic's open-world survival shooter has slowed down to the point where rarely anyone talks about it.
The game was supposed to be out a long time ago but every time the release date would approach, the development team would delay the game indefinitely before offering a new release date. When the most recent delay occurred, the publisher announced that they must delist the game from Steam due to a legal conflict over the game's name.
And today, it appears that this controversial title will not launch under The Day Before name. Instead, Fntastic are changing it to Dayworld. The new trademark was registered earlier this month by the publisher and the official description clearly states that the trademark covers video games.
So yeah, The Day Before is becoming Dayworld. With this change, we really hope that the game is clear to finally be released later this November, which is the promised release date.
If it happens that Fntastic once again delay the release, we'd probably lose the little hope we have for The Day Before/Dayworld releasing at all.
On the other hand, we had many games in development hell for years and years but they eventually see the light of the day, so fingers crossed that Dayworld is also close to the finish line.
Dayworld is expected to launch on PC only, but the publisher have stated that they are exploring the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release too.
