The Day Before has been pushed back until November 10, 2023, due to a legal dispute over the game's name.
Following the delisting of The Day Before from Steam, the developer of this highly anticipated MMO posted a tweet on their official Twitter account, clarifying that the name "The Day Before" may not be available to use due to a legal conflict.
Fntastic reported that the game's trademark, "The Day Before," was properly registered in the United States just before the game's announcement in January 2021. They also stated that they were unaware of any claims on that name until January 19, 2023, and that they were compelled to deal with this issue, which undoubtedly took their focus away from the game's development. As a result, The Day Before has been pushed back until November 10, 2023.
The developers claim that they were going to release gameplay footage very soon, but owing to this disagreement, they were forced to postpone it as well, with the promise of releasing the video content as soon as those issues are resolved.
Overall, the situation with "The Day Before" appears to be very suspicious. Despite the fact that the game was intended to be published on March 1, 2023, we received no in-game content, only a few screenshots and teasers, which is simply insufficient. Furthermore, this is not the first time a scenario like this has arisen in relation to this game. FNTASTIC promised last year to show The Day Before gameplay if a specific tweet received 10,000 likes. This occurred, and instead of showing the gameplay, the developers just delayed the game's release.
Doubts regarding the game's validity began to surface on its official Discord channel as well. In a couple of posts, the main moderator of The Day Before's Discord mod stirred up the situation even further, saying in one post: "Those who wonder if the game is real, I'm wondering the same right now as well."
It remains to be seen whether The Day Before will be one of those games that excite fans only to be cancelled after several delays, or whether we will play it regardless. However, when all of the factors mentioned are considered, there is little possibility that it will occur in the end. If this game is ever released, it will be available for the PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S , and PC .
