Treyarch have announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's post-launch DLC content will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 owners for just a week before it arrives on PC and Xbox One, which is actually good news for CoD fans all things considered.

Even though Activision and Treyarch are still dancing to Sony's tune and catering to PlayStation 4 owners, the DLC for some of Call of Duty's earlier instalments had a two week exclusivity window for Sony's platform. Not that master race and Xbox One owners were happy with it but it all boils down to put up or shut up, without the put up part of course.

Treyarch announced that this includes events and content for CoD: Black Ops 4's multiplayer, zombies and blackout mode, starting with "an all-new take on" the fan favourite map Nuketown. Note that this is unrelated to Blackout's Nuketown island so we're talking about a proper blast from the past.

Nuketown is expected to launch in November, although exact dates will be revealed at a later date. They did mention it will be available "for all players to enjoy" so taking the PS4 exclusivity window into account, it's likely we'll see it in the first three weeks of November 2018.

A number of CoD: Black Ops 4's specialists are apparently in development as well, the first of which is expected to launch in December 2018. Treyarch also says that there will be plenty of "seasonal and time-limited events that will deliver new game modes and content to all players".

As for CoD: Black Ops 4's battle royale mode Blackout, the dev insists that the version available at launch will only be the beginning. They said that their plan is to support the community with map updates, expansions and new Blackout modes.

We're not sure whether this shortening of PS4's exclusivity window has to do with Treyarch's olive branch or Activision's unholy union with Blizzard, but either way it's a start. And just before someone accuses me of being hostile - I couldn't care less about platforms, I just want to click some heads without feeling like a second fiddle to the company I just forked over a lump of cash to.
