Treyarch have rolled out a smaller PC update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 that adds auto mantle toggle key to the options menu, along with some multiplayer and Zombies stability fixes, reminding players that the Quad Feed is still on.

Well, technically it's Beenox who rolled out the patch, since they're handling Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's PC development side but never mind. Anyway, the game's auto mantle, or vaulting if you will, has been getting some hate, mostly for working when not intended, leading to some bitter-tasting lost fights.

Some users took to Reddit, calling for a system more akin to earlier Call of Duty titles, which made it a more purposeful activity by requiring you to look at what you wish to mantle. Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's system did well to make the game's movement more fluent, some close combat scenarios left other users feeling hard done by. So Treyarch obliged. Well, Beenox. Yeah, you got it.

Anyway, the option to turn it off has been added to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's controls menu, leaving it on for users who prefer smoother movement. The team also fixed the issue where enabling sprint cancels reload would disable auto mantle.

As for the rest of the patch, it's mostly reserved for crash fixes. Also, I get a distinct feeling that ragequitters finally did something useful - Treyarch and Beenox pinpointed a crash that occurred when players "quit immediately as they were being killed." Groovy.

The second listed fix is a "rare" one that happened when players left matches shortly after joining. It seems like Treyarch weren't kidding when they said that Zombies will take plenty more fixing, as the patch comes with one oriented at Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's undead oriented mode. Apparently, the team plugged an exploit that let players use extra perks and caused crashes.
