Treyarch have rolled out yet another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, this time around focusing on multiplayer balance as well as changes to Blackout, Zombies, weapons, specialists, map spawns, scorestreaks and quite a bunch more.
The company said they've made changes to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's spawn logic and spawn placement "across the board". There's been quite some tuning on Slums, Summit, Firing Range, Frequency, Arsenal, and Icebreaker and Treyarch claim players should feel the improvements immediately.
As far as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's gunplay goes, Treyarch acknowledged that "run-and-gun SMG playstyles were being underrepresented", prompting them to tweak the balance between assault rifles and SMGs. There have been no standout weapons since launch though, which should be a dev's dream when it comes to balance.
The MX9 and Crodite have had their damage ranges extended while Saug 9mm's hipfire accuracy has taken a slight nerf. As for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's tactical rifles, the ABR had its maximum damage range increased, with Treyarch dialling down its repeater operator mode to compensate. The Swordfish's headshot multiplier has been nerfed, so as to decrease the likelihood of a 3 hit kill.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's sniper rifles got some love too, so as to "fight King Paladin". Treyarch decreased the sway when ADSing on all sniper rifles and upped their damage. It seems that fans discovered the true power of LMGs in the meantime and Treyarch claim they're "toning them down before everyone jumps on the bandwagon". Shotguns are apparently fine, sans some attachment issues.
As far as specialists go, Ajax will need to work more to earn the ballistic shield; Nomad's K9 health is down by 10 per cent; Crash saw its Teammate Used Pack score dropped from +50 to +25 while Firebreak's Purifier "has been restored to its former glory".
There have been a bunch of other changes, such as increased XP earn rates in hardcore and realistic difficulty settings in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies and a bunch of others.
