The seventh chapter of the strategy seriesCivlization will live for the first time simultaneously on the PC platform and current consoles.
The next game in the long-running 4X Civilization series has been officially announced. Full name Sid Meier's Civilization VII, it will be the first game in the series to be released simultaneously for PC and consoles.
And when we say consoles, we mean both old and new, it has been confirmed that the game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
The release date has not yet been precisely determined, but it has been said that the game is planned for 2025.
Details about the gameplay have not been revealed for now. However, we won't have to wait long to find out what news the seventh game in the series brings. The Civilization 7 gameplay presentation is scheduled for the eighth month of this year.
Back in 2023, Firaxis Games stirred up excitement by announcing a new Civilization game in the works. But there were changes behind the scenes too, like Heather Hazen taking over as the new boss. And then, Jake Solomon, the mastermind behind XCOM 2 and Midnight Suns, decided to move on.
The series’ creator Sid Meier made an appearance during the Summer Game Fest showcase to confirm that the game would be released on PC and consoles on the same day.
