Cyberpunk 2077 ran into a ton of troubles for trying to grab all the console markets but that era is now coming to an end.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched in a horrendous state which rightfully earned the ire of countless fans who were looking forward to their favourite games for the foreseeable period but instead got a barely working abomination.

It wasn't really a secret among the gamers that everyone saw the PS4 and Xbox One consoles as the reason for so many troubles - they are last-gen with weak hardware, after all.

Furthermore, the game was just about unplayable on those platforms at launch, which eventually contributed to players not instigating backlash over the announcement that last-gen consoles will no longer be supported.

Technically, they will just not get major updates but CDPR didn't go into much detail about what else this decision would entail. After all, this is a confirmation that no new content is coming to PS4/XBone, including the upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty.

The entire community is pretty much aware the outdated hardware just needs to be dropped and CDPR concurs, which is why update 1.6 will be the last big one for those consoles.

Meanwhile, the upcoming updates will make the Night City more inhabited and dense since the devs will only focus on hardware that will be able to take it now, letting the players enjoy the game the way it was meant to be.
