Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Zombies mode was in works during the early development of the game but was scrapped about a year and a half after that since the developers wanted to keep the realistic tone across the entire game.
However, there are some leaked images found in the Modern Warfare game files, that reveal some of the zombie models and cosmetics that Infinity Ward were working on. Thanks to an anonymous data miner who leaked these images to a well know Call of Duty YouTuber The Gaming Revolution, we have a first look at the undead creatures in Modern Warfare, that will, sadly, never see the light of the day.
First up, we have what appears to be a boss' zombie arm and another part of the body that we cannot really recognize. By the looks of it, these body parts are really similar to the leaked zombie artwork from Black Ops 4, another Call of Duty game that never got the fan-favourite mode.
The second set of images shows a spray tag that simply reads "Zombies" and there is also a teddy bear zombie weapon sticker. It is safe to say that Infinity Ward shelved a lot of Zombies work.
Those who hope that one day, the developer might release the Zombies mode, well, do not get your hopes up as chances are almost non-existent. The Gaming Revolution claims that there is a slim chance that Pandemic mode arrives instead but that won't be anytime soon due to the current situation with coronavirus pandemic.
