Infinity Ward are working on improvements to clipping issue that has been one of the most annoying problems in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Co-Design Director of multiplayer Joe Cecot confirmed that improvements won't be perfect though.
Modern Warfare is probably one of the best Call of Duty games in the last few years but that doesn't mean that the game is not without its flaws. Quite the contrary, Modern Warfare has a lot of them and among the popular bunch that includes SBMM and game modes rotation, there's also the clipping issue that's been in the game ever since Modern Warfare launched just under two months ago.
For those who are not familiar with the term, it basically refers to an element being chopped against some other element, to reduce the visible area of the element. It's a well-known issue in many other games but in Modern Warfare can be really annoying.
For example, a part of the player model can often be seen through walls if the player is near the wall which basically gives the opponents a clear view and most of the time a free kill. You can see the clipping issue in the screenshot above.
Luckily, Infinity Ward are working on a solution but don't expect it to be perfect just yet. Co-Design Director of multiplayer Joe Cecot confirmed that the developers are actively working on improvements. However, the issue won't be purged completely and may still appear with larger guns. "We are actively working on improving this. It won’t be perfect with huge guns but we’ll keep improving," Cecot tweeted when asked about the issue.
At the moment, it is unknown when exactly players can expect to see these improvements, but at least we now know that the devs are aware of the issue and are looking for potential fixes.
