It looks like Activision will allow players to preload Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 update, or at least a part of it. The preload is live right now but the update won't be available until August 5 at 11:00 PM PST/ 11:00 PM CET.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 is coming to an end very soon. It will be replaced with another fresh batch of content which includes new maps, weapons, operators and other additions. As we wait for the official intel from Infinity Ward and Activision, it looks like some players are already preloading a major patch which seems to be just a part of the gigantic Season 5 update.
As you can see in the screenshot below, update file version 1.24 can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store but it won't be available until August 5 at 11:00 PM PST/ 11:00 PM CET, when Season 5 is set to arrive.
At the moment, we do not know just how big the download size for Season 5 will be but since Infinity Ward and Activision are allowing players to pre-load the update or at least a part of it, expect another mammoth file size.
We also know from earlier rumours that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 will be the last Season. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War (Call of Duty 2020) announcement is imminent apparently and the publisher will shift their focus to the new game very soon.
Activision are yet to confirm what kind of changes we can expect regarding the massive makeover of Warzone, which is coming with the new game. Hopefully, we'll hear more about that in the upcoming weeks.
