Activision and Treyarch have rolled out the launch gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which does a good job in teasing just about everything that awaits once the game hits the shelves on 12 October 2018 in its new garments.

The trailer's description lists these garments as the all-new Blackout battle royale mode, the next evolution of multiplayer and three Zombies experiences, which seems to be the order in which Treyarch and Activision are presenting them in the trailer too. If you've been following the game's development though, there's very little you haven't seen already.

Having already spawned a faster paced offshoot-mode called , Treyarch stated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta was a success. Granted, there will be made to it before in launches, most notably level 3 and 2 armour tweaks, but the mode was enough to convince the head honchos of its readiness.

As for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zombies mode, it was that it will have two separate storylines, for the first time since the mode first appeared in CoD. The first one, Blood of the Dead, is a remake of Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead, which most will be familiar with.

The second storyline is the Chaos one, which focuses on Scarlett Rhodes' search for her father. She is joined in her search by Shaw, Diego and Bruno, who will be providing gratuitous assistance in dispatching waves of zombies in their search.

Instead of Scarlett's father though, they come across a powerful relic that apparently wields "an extraordinary power that threatens all of humanity". Their search leads them to RMS Titanic, where the Voyage of Despair storyline ends and the next one begins. Dubbed IX, it takes place in a Roman Colosseum, the glimpses of which can be seen in the above trailer.

That being said, I cannot help but think that an old-school Call of Duty fan magically transported from the past would feel as if he's in Zombies after seeing the trailer. No singleplayer ? What's Blackout? What happened to Call of Duty? I'll eat someone's face for this you know!
