Blizzard announced they will have something special in store for the Overwatch 2 fans but the next test might be a little further out.
Overwatch 2 has recently completed a beta test run and the reception was mixed. Some players were just happy to get something new after years of content draught while others found that the format change was just compounding the existing issue of the game.
As such, it remains to be seen how much interest remains for the upcoming tests but it appears that Blizzard might be overestimating the players' commitment since they are currently teasing an announcement. After years of waiting and one beta later, they are announcing an announcement, which will happen on June 16, 2022.
Apparently, the announcement will cover Blizzard's plans regarding OW2 for several months, including the date for the next beta. As one might expect, the announcement of an announcement wasn't received with hype from the fans and some merely pointed out that the existing Overwatch servers are down.
The servers have been fixed since but the abundance of such comments paints a pretty grim picture for OW2 engagement if the players are more interested in playing the game where the time since the last hero addition is counted in years.

Considering that the recent Overwatch 2 beta left so many people unimpressed, let's hope the new one will go all out and show the best parts the not-so-sequel has to offer, if it has any.
