Bethesda have extended Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter beta after being blown away by the positive reaction from players. The publisher decided to keep it live for foreseeable future and add regular updates to the battle royale mode beta.
During E3 2019, Bethesda have revealed a bunch of new stuff that is coming to their online RPG Fallout 76. One of these revealed features was a brand new mode named Nuclear Winter. It's a battle royale that is currently in a beta phase, originally planned to run along with the free trial.
However, in their latest blog post, Bethesda have officially confirmed that Fallout 76's battle royale mode will extend beyond the free trial and will be available for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, they will also work on additional updates for the mode while the beta is active.
According to Bethesda, the decision has been made after they received a positive reaction from Fallout 76 players who are enjoying the battle royale experience in West Virginia. "We’ve been blown away by the reactions and responses we’ve been seeing all week to Nuclear Winter. It has been so amazing to read all your experiences and see everything you’ve been sharing," it's written in the blog post.
Ever since Bethesda revealed Nuclear Winter on E3 2019, many popular streamers have been praising the game. Twitch streamer Shroud likes it so much that he plans to make it his main game, which should without a question help the game even more.
At the moment, Nuclear Winter supports up to 52 players and you can rank up, unlock new and exclusive Perks, deploy a C.A.M.P. and even launch nukes as the fire ring closes in. It's one of the best things that could happen to Fallout 76 despite the huge number of battle royale games currently available.
Whether the new mode remains popular no one can tell but it's nice that Bethesda aren't giving up on their game despite difficult start and many problems that are still persistent in Fallout 76.
If Nuclear Winter looks like your cup of tea, you can try it for free until Monday, 17 June 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
