EA has officially unveiled the system requirements for the upcoming Battlefield 6 open beta, giving PC players a clear idea of what kind of hardware they'll need to jump into the action. The minimum, balanced, and performance spec tiers offer options for a range of setups, from older systems to newer hardware.
Interestingly, it doesn't look like Battlefield 6 will be overly demanding, at least not in the open beta build, which probably won't feature everything EA are preparing for launch in terms of visual technology.
The purpose of the open beta is to stress test the servers ahead of launch and provide additional feedback on weapon and class balancing, and report bugs and glitches.
At a minimum, to run Battlefield 6 at 1080p and 30 FPS on low settings, players will need a GPU like the Nvidia RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A380, paired with either an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. You'll also need 6GB of VRAM, 16GB of system RAM (dual-channel 2133MHz), and Windows 10. Storage-wise, 75GB of free HDD space is required.
For those aiming for a more stable and visually rich experience, the balanced tier targets 1440p at 60 FPS with high settings. Recommended hardware includes a Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580. You'll also need a beefier CPU like the Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 8GB of VRAM, and 16GB of faster RAM (dual-channel 3200MHz). Windows 11 64-bit and an SSD are required.
Performance-focused users targeting 80 FPS+ at 1080p will follow similar specs, with an emphasis on smoother framerates over resolution.
Additional requirements include TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, and EA also recommend you turn on Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling to have the most optimal experience.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta officially kicks off on August 7 for Early Access players and August 9-10 for everyone else. The second test weekend is also scheduled for August 14-17.
