Baldur's Gate 3 getting world gameplay reveal at PAX East in February

We can't blame Larian for hurrying to dismiss Google Stadia's listing of Baldur's Gate 3 coming in 2020 as an error, as they probably think it'll steal some wind from the announcement. Make no mistake though - nothing can steal the Baldur's Gate wind.

I'll be as arrogant as to quote my own piece from the other day, saying, "they refused to comment on whether Baldur's Gate 3 is or isn't coming in 2020, so there's a glimmer of hope that they're just trying to keep secretive about this. Never underestimate our willingness to and persistence in hoping Larian, you hear us?"

That said, we did know that some sort of announcement is coming on 27 February, because Larian said so back in January, and now we know what it is. 

Baldur's Gate 3 is getting its worldwide gameplay reveal live at PAX East on Thursday, 27 February and 15:30 ET. "Join Swen live on stage with a special guest, and if you can’t, we'll be streaming to YouTube so you can be involved no matter where you are in the world", Larian said in a tweet. 

Even though Larian were incredibly careful not to show any actual gameplay in the announcement you see above, it's more than enough to fill us with hope. 

Baldur's Gate 3's team seems to have employed just about every trick in the proverbial cinematic book, from motion capture, building miniatures to plain old exploration to find the sort of settings that would fit in the magical universe the game occupies.

Forgive us for being hyped at the moment, because we've many years of history with the franchise, but the voice acting and the audio in Baldur's Gate 3's teaser above also sound right on point. I mean it's impossible not to get excited, so onwards to 27 February and PAX East.
