EA recently released their Q3 2020 financial results which showed a slump in their planned releases but also the importance of Apex Legends. They also mentioned the game several times during the conference call and stated it will come to new platforms.
Apex Legends took the world by storm on 4 February 2019 with its flash release when no one's attention could escape the free to play title. However, the popularity plummetted soon after but the game made a bit of a comeback lately and it's once again hyping both current and former players up with the plans for Season 4.
It is not only the players who are hyped about Apex Legends either. EA held a conference call to accompany their Q3 2020 financial report on 30 January 2020 where they spoke about the plans for the title as it became one of the company's core franchises.
One particularly interesting notion is that there are plans for Apex Legends' release on in 2020. Considering it's EA we are talking about, the first platform that comes to mind is mobile due to it being so microtransaction-happy. From the potential new platforms, mobile is the only one that was .
The third major candidate for Apex Legends in 2020 would be the new generation of consoles which will release during the holiday season. The game is a live service that for so it's only natural that PS5 and Xbox Series X will have their own versions it.
While EA indeed said that there are plans for new platforms, they didn't explicitly confirm some of the three options above. Therefore, it would be wise to take this info with a grain of salt and treat it as a rumour for the time being.
