Tomb Raider is getting a new publisher, which was revealed to be Amazon Games recently.
Tomb Raider series has seen a wide range of publishers over the past few decades, with Square Enix being the latest in the chain.
However, the company sold the Tomb Raider rights at a bargain price , along with Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain series.
This left Crystal Dynamics in charge of Tomb Raider but given the series' popularity, it would definitely need a publisher as it had outgrown the possibility of being an indie long ago.
As a result, Crystal Dynamics struck a deal with Amazon Games, which will publish the future Tomb Raider entries, one of which is already in the works but there is no release date or window publicly available just yet.
Additionally, Crystal Dynamics have a lot on their plate now, with the development of Perfect Dark for Microsoft, which they are working on together with The Initiative.
As for Amazon Games, they also have several projects in the works, with the company handling the publishing part of the games' releases. Blue Protocol was recently announced at TGA, with Bandai Namco handling the development.
Disruptive Games' new IP which will be a multiplayer action-adventure as well as Glowmade's online co-op games will also be published by Amazon.
