Following a series of twists regarding Henry Cavill's future career, one announcement caused the entire Warhammer 40K fan base to nerd out at the same time.
Henry Cavill's story as the lead in The Witcher series has come to an end, possibly because his creative ideas were constantly getting shelved even though he has a strong grasp of the character and Sapkowski's universe.
Soon after leaving that role, Cavill announced he would return as Superman but that didn't last long as more recently, he announced this wouldn't happen.
On December 16, 2022, it was announced that Games Workshop and Amazon partnered up for a Warhammer 40K franchise that would come to screens, "big and small alike" although there is an addendum stating it might be a good time to invest in a bigger TV.
Reading between, the lines it looks like we are in for a TV show that will be starring Henry Cavill and it is set in the W40K universe. His role has not been announced yet and it looks like the project is at the grassroots level still.
On top of starring in the show, Henry Cavill will also be the executive producer, which will hopefully mean his creative ideas will be listened to more closely. After all, the man can see Blackstone Fortresses in chandeliers so it's hard to doubt his love for the franchise.
Amazon Studios will have the right to utilise the IP "across its entertainment businesses" so that hint about the big screens may not end up just wishful thinking after all. It is not out of the realm of possibility that the company is gauging the fans' interest in order to figure out whether such an endeavour would be worth the undertaking.
