Age of Empires IV gameplay was officially revealed by Microsoft and Relic Entertainment on XO19 event in London last week but the details about the game are still pretty scarce. The game was initially announced back in 2017 and we know that it's set in the Middle Ages but it's slightly earlier than Age of Empire II's time.
One thing that many excited fans would certainly love to know is the release date but Microsoft are still silent on the matter, which suggests that the game is still in early development. However, according to ResetEra member FairlyEmpire, Age of Empires IV could be coming sometime in 2021.
In the post, FairlyEmpire revealed a couple of bits of info, which the devs revealed at XO19 event in London and the release window is one of the information that they've mentioned. "Age Of Empires IV is currently aiming a 2021 release. It's been in active development for about 3 years," ResetEra user wrote in the post.
This will almost certainly disappoint numerous fans who expected the game to release in 2020, including some of our team members, who are evidently down this morning. However, Relic should definitely take their time with Age of Empires IV. We're waiting since 2005 for a new game and a couple of more years definitely won't hurt.
FairlyEmpire also claims that Age of Empires III Remake is currently planned to release sometime in mid-2020, to keep you busy until the big one arrives. You can find the post on for more info.
Age of Empires IV will release on PC but Xbox port is also possible. However, Microsoft are yet to confirm if the game is arriving to Xbox Project Scarlett.
