Riven, the newest adventure from Cyan Worlds, is a game whose puzzles will truly challenge your puzzle-solving skills because every puzzle is created in a way to be very vague and very difficult, and you'll certainly need help to solve them; I know we did.
However, the feeling of successfully solving a puzzle is unmatched once you figure out the solution. One of the less challenging puzzles you'll encounter is located inside Starry Expense, some sort of space in-between all five islands of Riven.

If you do not know how to gain access to Starry Expense, you can check out our guide posted above. Regardless of the location you access Starry Expense from, the situation inside is always the same—you must take several steps to reach the centre of the construction over the catwalks.
The first time you enter Starry Expense, you'll see some sort of machine holding five marbles inside. Ignore it for now, and go over the catwalk as far as you can. Once you reach the end, take note of a blue switch on one side and a crank on the other side of the catwalk. Press the blue switch and then turn the crank until the catwalk connects with the central platform.
Now, return to the previously mentioned device and interact with it. Pull the lever on the bottom to load marble. Pull it again to put it into position, and pull it the third time to aim it towards the central crystal. You'll see the flashing button that will appear beneath the lever. Press it, and the laser will hit the central crystal.
Now, go to the central platform, where you'll find the next interesting device you can interact with. This device serves to control the platforms around it, but the only accessible platforms will be the ones you expend their catwalks on. If you found two rotating domes and activated them, then two platforms will be accessible, plus the one that can only be accessed from within Starry Expanse, and that's the one needed for the story to continue.
Interact with the device and use the crank that can move platforms horizontally and vertically. The platforms can be moved only on the drawn paths, so whenever you move a platform, mind its orientation to set it correctly. Once you set the path to the selected platform, walk across the catwalk and activate the laser, just like you did earlier once you first entered the expanse.
After activating the laser, leave Starry Expense over the rotating dome. The next area you're about to enter is Prison Island, where the next set of puzzles awaits.
