The Haunted Mansion mission is fairly tough for newcomers to Jagged Alliance 3 as they will have to navigate a minefield, kill a bunch of enemies, speak with the supposed ghost and then fight another bunch of enemies who will spawn right in their faces.
When the players go through all those motions, the butler of the house will ask them to help find the owner of the ruinous mansion, who has been missing for 10 years.
There is no indication where he is and the location can be found through blind exploration or just checking guides for it, like this one.
Mr Ditch, currently known only as the Hermit in Jagged Alliance 3, can be found in Great Forest, sector L12.
The first time the players go there, they will see a bunch of Legion enemies watching a presentation by a life coach, who will eventually turn out to be the man we are looking for.
He has given them mushrooms and talks about life improvement but he has actually been poisoning them over the long years to get revenge for his murdered family. You will need to kill them all before they manage to kill the hermit as this batch of 'shrooms doesn't seem to be as lethal as the others.
Once you speak with him and tell him the butler is trying to get in touch, you will be tasked to go back to the mansion and relay the information. The butler is happy to hear Ditch is alive and goes to visit him in the jungle.
When you visit them in the Great Forest the next time, you will be awarded experience and $15,000. Alternatively, if you used the Scoundrel trait and lied to the butler about Ditch's demise, you will only get the experience as the money is already in your pocket.
