Just like last year, NBA 2K21 features a MyPLAYER Builder mode where you get to create your own, custom-made player from scratch. Here is a guide on how to make one of the most complete guard builds in the game: a Scoring Machine.
NBA 2K21 is finally out now, and MyCAREER is unsurprisingly its go-to mode once again for a vast majority of players. As it is widely known, this mode allows you to create your own player as you rank up through the world of NBA 2K basketball.
Given that there's an absolute abundance of builds you can create in NBA 2K21, settling on one perfect pick for your playing style is never an easy task.
However, after trying out numerous builds at various positions ourselves, we have found a build that is sure to be right up the alley of every guard player in NBA 2K21: Scoring Machine at the Shooting Guard position.
Despite taking a significant hit through nerfing, Scoring Machine is still one of the most complete guard builds in the game. When maxed out at 99 OVR and boosted with bonus attribute points, it will be able to unlock and equip contact dunks to put your opponents on a poster - all the while being very much able to sink a deep three thanks to its excellent shooting abilities.
Oh, and did we mention that its ball handling attributes and pass accuracy can get to mid-80s as well? Because they can. The only downside to a Scoring Machine is its defence, but even that should by no means be underestimated as its five defensive badges can be more than enough in the right hands.
So, how do you go about creating this all-around build? Well, let us take you through a step by step guide that will give you everything you need to know about how to get yourself a proper Scoring Machine build in NBA 2K21.
First off, make sure to select the Shooting Guard position on the MyPLAYER Builder initial screen. This will take to you to Skill Breakdown where you need to choose the third pie chart from the top - one that has a slightly higher blue (Finishing) portion, and then you'll want to pick the agility pie chart from the Physical Profile list.
Now you will have to distribute your attribute points across four categories. In order to create a Scoring Machine build with 54 badges, make sure to put in every single value exactly as follows:
FINISHING:
- Close Shot - 88
- Driving Layup - 91
- Driving Dunk - 81
- Standing Dunk - 57
- Post Hook - 56
SHOOTING:
- Mid-Range Shot - 81
- Three-Point Shot - 79
- Free Throw - 60
- Post Fade - 87
PLAYMAKING:
- Pass Accuracy - 78
- Ball Handle - 80
- Post Moves - 47
DEFENSE/REBOUNDING:
- Interior Defense - 35
- Perimeter Defense - 76
- Lateral Quickness - 74
- Steal - 79
- Block - 28
- Offensive Rebound - 29
- Defensive Rebound - 62
Once you're done with setting your attributes, you will have to select a body type. Now, because this is all purely visual, you can pick any body shape that you like.
You will then have to set your height, weight and wingspan. For height, go with 6'5", 179lbs for weight, and set your wingspan to 79.7". And finally, pick the Slasher takeover and you will then be greeted with a screen saying that you've built a Scoring Machine.
Like mentioned above, this build boasts a total of 54 badges, and we will now show you how to set your badges correctly to get the most out of your player:
FINISHING BADGES:
- Consistent Finisher (Silver)
- Contact Finisher (Hall of Fame)
- Giant Slayer (Gold)
- Pro Touch (Hall of Fame)
- Slithery Finisher (Hall of Fame)
