Helldivers 2 is an extraction shooter focused on players fighting against Automatons and Terminids on their conquest of capturing Super Earth.
Automatons and Terminids are invading different planets on the outer edge of Super Earth. To further expand their invasion efforts, automatons and terminids have established nests and outposts on all planets.
During your mission on different planets, you will come across these nests and outposts. Destroying these settlements reduces their reinforcement numbers, making your fights easier. However, to clear these nests and outposts, you have to use certain weapons and strategies properly, and here's a guide on how you can do it efficiently.
How to Clear Nests and Outposts
To clear out Bug Nests and Automaton Fabricators, you will need to carry one thing in your loadout, which is a Grenade. You can opt for the standard grenade. However, to make things swifter, we recommend using the G-16 Impact Grenade. This Semtex grenade can instantly shut down bug holes with a damage output of 400.
Once it comes to clearing out nests and fabricators, the Grenade Launcher will be the most efficient stratagem. You are provided with three magazines, each loaded with 10 grenades. So, essentially, there are 30 grenades at your disposal. Firing one from the Grenade launcher into a nest or through the open door of a fabricator instantly destroys it.
Moving on to heavy Automaton outposts, we recommend using the Orbital Laser stratagem. Once called into the radius of a Heavy Automaton outpost, it will instantly start destroying fabricators and, most importantly, the large turret towers that can easily one-shot you from a mile away.
Another great stratagem for clearing out nests and fabricators is the Autocannon. You can aim down the sights with an Autocannon and close off bug holes, as well as fabricators, from a safe distance. We recommend taking the Shield Generator backpack if you want to get up close and personal while clearing out nests and outposts.
