Call of Duty: Warzone has finally arrived and it is a breath of fresh air in the battle royale genre. However, if you are a newcomer, it can be tough to get into the game so here are some general tips that will hopefully help you get that Warzone Victory screen.
Warzone may be a battle royale game just like PUBG, Apex Legends and Fortnite but make no mistake, if you've never played Modern Warfare or any Call of Duty game, Warzone could be a painful experience for you and your team.
The game comes with several unique features such as Contracts, Gulag and Plunder and even obtaining weapons is a bit different than in other games from the same genre. To help you get your first win, we've made a list of 10 general tips that you should follow if you want to get that Warzone Victory screen.
1. Get a Loadout Crate right at the start of the match
Loadout crates allow your team to pick one of their pre-made loadouts. Most players don't know that you can get one right at the start of the match. Simply hand all your cash to one squad member and go buy a loadout crate. The whole team can use it and pick their favourite loadouts which is a huge advantage is the early stages of the match.
2. Every squad member should use different perks and killstreaks
Never use the same loadouts. One of your buddies can equip High Alert to warn the squad if someone has spotted you, whereas the second member of the group can buy the necessary supplies with the discount perk while the third buddy can be a spotter with UAV or Heartbeat sensor.
3. Find and complete Contracts
This is one of the best and easiest ways to get god-tier loot in Warzone. Contracts are all around the map and you simply need to activate them and complete the objective before the timer runs out. Bounty Hunter contracts can be tricky since you have to track down and eliminate a certain squad but there are easier ones where you simply have to find and open crates on the map.
4. Snipers can one-shot kill
Snipers and some Marksman Rifles are the most deadly weapons in the game at the moment. Aim for the head and you will one-shot the opponent regardless of their armour level. Warzone does not have helmets and armour is much weaker than that in Blackout.
5. High Alert, UAV and Heartbeat sensor are must-haves
If you have problems locating the enemy player who is raining down bullets on you from a distance, High Alert will flash your screen whenever someone spots you. UAV is another great tool that allows you to see the enemy location on the minimap, so do not underestimate its power. Similar to UAV, Heartbeat Sensor will tell you if there are enemies in close proximity. It is basically a free, reusable pocket UAV.
6. Do NOT rush at Loadout Crates
Yes, they are great and allow you to get your favourite loadout but the enemy players will usually set up a perfect ambush which will send you and your squad to Gulag. Scan the area and see if the threat is there before you approach the crate.
7. Stay away from the gas (duh)
Seriously, Warzone gas is no joke. PUBG's Blue Circle feels like a viable tactical option when compared to Warzone's green death. It will kill you in seconds and on top of this, you won't be able to see anything and will keep coughing annoyingly. Think Gas Grenade from multiplayer but on a much larger scale.
8. MP7 is broken at the moment
Since Warzone has a lower time to kill (TTK) than most battle royale games, fast-firing weapons can be pretty deadly. We suggest MP7 SMG with some range-extending attachments. This weapon will absolutely blow your mind. It has no recoil at all, it fires fast and its accuracy is insanely good. Give it a try, before Infinity Ward realise just how good MP7 is.
9. Spend some money on Self Revive kits
These are incredibly useful tools that can mean a difference between win and defeat. If you find yourself knocked down by an enemy and need to get up quickly before they take you down, the Self Revive kit will do the job and the enemy team will suddenly be up for a deadly surprise.
10. Armour up!
Check those armour bars. Without them, you are as good as dead since your HP in Warzone is the same as in multiplayer. Make sure to always have three armour plates equipped.
11. Spray paint your opponent in the Gulag
We are not joking. Once you find yourself in the gulag, use the spray to paint your enemies and make them much, much easier to spot. Yes, it might be hard since everyone is just running around or punching you like a madman, but once you put some paint on them, you'll have a big advantage in the showers.
