Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received its eagerly anticipated Season 4, but some PC players are unable to update the game due to awfully slow download speeds. Here's a guide on how to fix and resolve this issue and for all.
Activision have released the Season 4 update for their enormously popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. However, given that this update is also on the heavier side, certain issues with downloading it have started to rear their ugly heads.
Namely, while updating the game is a standard, hassle-free affair on consoles, a number of PC players have been experiencing problems with downloading patches and updates from the game's client.
The issue is often described as the download refusing to start for absolutely no reason whatsoever, which renders players unable to update and play the game.
Performing the basic, go-to fixes, such as changing the game's region in hopes of getting the download to start, or scanning and repairing the game's files through the client, does resolve the issue for most of the players - ourselves included.
However, we have stumbled upon a fix that has finally managed to completely resolve our problem. Namely, thanks to a YouTube channel called Area 2020 , we were able to start and complete our download at full speed.
The video guide states that the first thing you need to do while your download is stuck frozen on your client, is click on the Pause button, then go to the Settings screen, scroll down and set your download speed to 100 KB/s.
Then, wait until the download starts at the speed you've set it to. However, if it still fails to start, simply pause and resume the update, and that should get it going.

Let the update run for a few seconds, and then - while it is still downloading - open the Settings screen again and set the download speed to 0, which is the equivalent of your Internet connection's maximum speed. This will allow your client to take full advantage of your speedy connection, and so the download should be completed rather swiftly.
