Baldur's Gate 3 players will want to get their hands on at least four pieces of Infernal Iron and one Infernal Alloy if they want to progress Karlach's personal quest and obtain Flawed Helldusk Armour pieces at the same time.
Thankfully, there are five Infernal Iron pieces spread across the first two Acts and one Alloy, which will help you complete the set.
Keep in mind that you will not be able to romance Karlach properly if you don't bring an Infernal Iron to Dammon in both the first and second Act of the game.
Infernal Iron locations in Baldur's Gate 3
- Chest in blacksmith's basement in Blighted Village
- The building opposite of the one with the waypoint
- Dror Ragzlin's treasure hoard in Shattered Sanctum
- If you are neutral with the Goblins, you can sneak to the door, pick the lock and loot everything without alerting anyone
- Zhentarim Basement
- Enter through the stables in Waukeen's Rest
- In a trapped chest behind a locked door
Since there are only three pieces in the first Act, you will also need to loot one in the second. There are two you can get:
- Chest in Reithwin Masons' Guild
- Chest in Balthazar's room in Gauntled of Shar
Infernal Alloy location
There is only one Infernal Alloy in the game but thankfully, it's quite easy to obtain. Go through the Underdark and board the boat in the Decrepit Village to go to Grymforge. Once you're there, seek out Stonemason Kith, who will ask you to observe the nearby ruins. If you pass History, Investigation and Perception checks, all of which are DC 10, he will give you the Infernal Alloy for free.
If you fail one or more of the checks, you can still buy the Alloy from him but it will cost you around 160 gold.
Make sure you visit Dammon with Karlach in the party and at least one Iron in your inventory during both the first and second Act in order to progress the quest with her heart.
He will craft the Flawed Helldusk pieces in Act 2 at the Last Light Inn so make sure you both protect Isobel from kidnapping and that Nightsong doesn't die, otherwise he will die as well and you will lose the ability to progress Karlach's quest as well as the ability to get crafted items from him.
