Katana is present in Baldur's Gate 3 but players are likely to go from one disappointment to another.

Baldur's Gate 3 has a wide variety of weapons but the one thing fans of Eastern cultures didn't get to experience properly is the katana.

The famed sword used by the samurai was seemingly present in the third act at the circus behind the genie but Larian pulled a quick one over the players by notifying them it is a fake.

However, a real katana exists in the game and it can be obtained in Lower City.

Baldur's Gate 3 katana is located in the first house southwest of the Bloomridge park.

The entrance will be just as you corner around the house.

Once inside the house, close the door so the passing citizens don't spot you. It is not forbidden for you to be inside but it is to open the hatch.

After dropping down the hatch, you will find yourself in a seemingly small space. The trick is to open the "secret" stone door. Just hover your mouse over it and it will highlight, no need for a Perception check.

Once you're through the wall, you will find a pile of weapons in the new room. The katana itself will be on a table immediately to the left as you enter the hall.

Unfortunately, you will find it to be rather underwhelming as it has the same stats as a +1 longsword. Considering you are in Act 3 of the game, such weapons have long become obsolete. In fact, Phalar Aluve is a much better option and it's found in Act 1.
