Baelen Bonecloak is a forgetful mushroom picker who is in a bit of a bind in the Underdark and Baldur's Gate 3 players are tasked with finding him and bringing him back to his wife in the Myconid Colony.
Finding Baelen is not particularly hard - the area is marked on the map and it is not far from the colony itself.
Getting the NPC out of the dangerous area, however, is a different thing altogether.
Baelen managed to drop his backpack and torch while navigating a Bibberbang field. These green plants will puff up when someone is in their proximity and should the person stay there too long, they explode and release flammable noxious fumes. Due to Baelen's unattended torch, they will definitely fire up and incinerate everything in their vicinity.
To get Baelen out of the Bibberbang field, you can simply show him a Scroll of Misty Step when he initiates conversation if you have one in your inventory. The small baldie will use it to get to safety and you can return for your reward.
If you don't have a scroll or want to loot the Noblestalk, approach the Bibberbangs and make sure you switch to turn-based mode as soon as the first plant starts to puff up. At that point, use Dash to double your movement speed and move straight for Baelen's backpack. Loot it entirely, walk to the nearby torch and pick it up. After that, you should still have enough movement to reach Baelen and initiate a conversation to give him one of the scrolls you just looted to get him to safety.
You should be safe until the next move in the place where you talking with Baelen. When the next turn starts, dash again and jump over the mushrooms to the right in order to get to the Noblestalk. If you are not sure about its exact location, hold L-Alt and you will see it in orange letters. Loot the mushroom and move back into the small clearing between Bibberbangs. End the turn.
Upon starting the next turn, you can simply dash back to safety and switch back to real-time mode.
As for Noblestalk, you can give it to Derryth, Baelen or Shadowheart. Any option except giving it to Baelen is good because if he eats it, he will turn into an abusive ass.
