Unlocking trophies/achievements in Atomic Heart, an RPG-based first-person shooter from Mundfish, can be a very challenging job at times, especially when you try to unlock the counter-based trophies.
Such trophies will require you to gather a certain number of collectables, such as finding all the chirpers in the game or talking to all the dead. Since there are an enormous number of those collectables, and the counter system is not working as it should, even after numerous patches, finding them all could be a real pain in the neck.
"The Necromancer" trophy will require you to talk to all deceased persons inside the game through a special polymerized memory, so if you are having a hard time unlocking this trophy, we are here to help you. Keep in mind, however, that this guide is made for the latest 1.6.0.0 PlayStation 5 version of the game, not earlier glitched versions.
How to unlock "The Necromancer" trophy
If you are one of those players who played Atomic Heart just after the game was released, then you already know that the game had some serious trophy-related issues back then. Of course, those issues were resolved through the numerous patches the game has received since its release, but some problems still persist.
One of the problems that seems unsolvable is that no matter how many dead people you find and talk to, the trophy counter will remain unchanged. But fear not; there is a solution to this problem.
To make the counter go up, you must start the new game. Our advice is to go for the "Peaceful Atom" difficulty because you don't need additional frustrations while just trying to unlock one of the trophies.
No matter how many dead your counter shows, ignore them all at the beginning of the game. Continue with the story until you reach the "Infirmary" level. This level will take place after you finish the "Theater" level and kill the "Natasha" boss. After you beat this boss, you will take an elevator to the surface. Continue through the open-world section until you reach the infirmary. Inside the infirmary, you will find three dead: one upstairs as soon as you enter the building and two inside on the first floor. Scan the area to easily find them.
For some unknown reason, the game will start to count the dead in The Necromancer trophy after you speak with one of them. From that point on, every dead person you find will count until you finish the game. Our advice is to go for the shorter ending (choose the first option after Granny Zina tells you to kill the main villain). After the story is done, choose the "Return to Facility 3846" option from the main menu to speak with the remaining dead in the open-world section.
If you are having difficulty finding the dead, consult some of the guides you can find online. If the counter is still missing some of the dead, simply start the new game, run through the story as fast as you can, and after you speak with the first dead person in the infirmary, the counter will go up again. We know, it is a tedious job, but at least it will ultimately unlock The Necromancer trophy and bring you one step closer to the ultimate price, the Platinum trophy.
