Activision and Infinity Ward will support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare until about six months before the release of Call of Duty 2021, according to the latest reports.

It's safe to say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been received as one of the best Call of Duty games in a long time. However, since Activision love to release a new game each year, Modern Warfare could soon be forgotten as Black Ops Cold War is just around the corner.

And while Activision will almost certainly abandon Modern Warfare at some point in near future, it looks like that won't be coming immediately after the launch of Black Ops Cold War. According to a reliable leaker TheMW2Ghost, Modern Warfare should stay updated until about six months before the release of Call of Duty 2021 title.

Apparently, small content drops will be coming to Modern Warfare after the sixth season, which is rumoured to be the last Modern Warfare season. As always with leaks and rumours, we suggest you take this info with a grain of salt until Activision officially reveal their plans for Modern Warfare content support in the upcoming months.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been the most successful Call of Duty game of all time, breaking sales and player count records, so it does not surprise us to see that Activision and Infinity Ward will try to keep the game alive for as long as possible.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For more about the upcoming Black Ops Cold War, check out the multiplayer reveal stream, which aired this week.
