In their latest blog post, Bungie announced that Destiny 2's final DLC, Season of Opulence, kicks off on 04 June 2019 for all platforms, with the new raid Crown of Sorrow available from day one, as the dev is trying something different.
"The world's first race for a raid is a competitive event. The raid is a challenge geared toward testing a fireteam’s ability to learn and execute on the mechanics, as well as their ability to overcome enemies and bosses together.
Having a short window of time between release and launch allows us to preserve the combat challenge for players making their attempt on day one and get people playing the raid content right away", Bungie wrote.
Crown of Sorrow launches at 4pm PDT / 11pm GMT and the dev recommends 715 power for first encounter.
Destiny 2 players will also find that there are "a few minor changes to current investment systems", so as to ensure that all players start increasing their Power from a similar footing.
Last Wish and Scourge of the Past will not be available to players until they've beaten Crown of Sorrow, which is Bungie's way to prevent Ethereal Keys stashers from having an advantage in the race.
There are changes to Prime Attunements and they'll be reset to two charges per character. While Destiny 2 players will build Prime Attunement charges with time, logging in after the new season has begun sets them to two.
Bungie added that all level 50 characters can earn Prime Engrams after signing in and having a go at Destiny 2: Season of Opulence.
Additionally, if you've gotten your mitts on some powerful bounties before the start of the Season, they will be capped at 700.
With four weeks until the Season of Opulence has kicked off, Bungie said that they'll have more information on the changes they've got in store for Destiny.
