New Battle Royale title Mavericks to feature 400 players

Well it was just waiting to happen, wasn't it? The only way to steal PUBG or Fortnite headlines is to beat them at something, and the developers at Automaton Games seem to be have the right ideas. When in doubt, scale upwards.

Sledgehammer Games' founders, Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, have decided to leave the studio in Aaron Halon's hands. The duo took Activision up on their offer of "new executive duties" within the company. Sledgehammer Games was founded back in 2009.

PUBG loses 600K daily peak CCU in February

Well, it's safe to say PUBG's downward slope is slowly turning into a Steam trend, a concerning thought indeed. Don't buy into the headlines though - if PUBG is a game that's going to die soon, then other titles already on the market don't even qualify as having been born yet.

This February, the Fortnite team has had a month to remember and a Valentine's Day to forget, with the company reportedly hitting PUBG kind of numbers in a recent surge of players to Epic's popular survival game.

Fortnite matchmaking changes on hold

The Fortnite team recently published a post on the game's state of development and one feature in particular rubbed the players the wrong way - changes to the matchmaking system. The Fortnite team responded, saying they'll sift through the feedback and think long and hard before taking any steps.

TinyBuild releasing six games on the Switch

Dynamic Pixels and TinyBuild are getting ready to see their survival horror game Hello Neighbor on Nintendo's hybrid console. In addition to Hello Neighbor, five more games published by TinyBuild are set to launch for the Switch.

PUBG losing players for the first time

OK, so it may be a bit too early to sound the alarm but according to the numbers, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has shed players for the first time. The game's stellar growth in China seems to have stopped as well and we're not sure that the company’s launch of two free PUBG mobile games in China is helping.

PUBG's anti-cheat update delayed

PUBG Corp delayed the latest anti-cheat update due to an "unexpected issue". During a sweep of helper programs that alter the graphics or aid gameplay in some way, BattleEye went ahead and blocked ReShade. You'll need to re-install the game only if its files have been already damaged.

One million cheaters banned from PUBG

PUBG's problem with cheaters is still growing in spite ever tightening anti-tamper measures. BattlEye's Twitter account reported that more than one million players had been banned in January 2018 alone. More measures are on the way.

PUBG's 3D replay feature usage is on the rise

Mikonet, the Seoul-based gaming technology company that brought 3D replay and Death Cam options to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has seen an increased number of players using the new features. They are currently developing A.I. driven cinematic highlights as well.

Fortnite patch 2.4.0 delayed

Epic Games had delay version 2.4.0 of Fortnite due to some issues that are 'taking [them] longer than expected to fix'. In order to fix the bugs that are causing some issues with in-game building, the devs are reverting to the building bar system that was present in V.2.2.0.

PUBG's new PC test server update

PUBG's PC test servers are sporting a new patch. The latest update has brought some more performance improvements both server and client-side. Due to the new anti-cheat system, some players might experience game crashes.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for Xbox One

PUBG Corp has rolled out a new patch for the Xbox One version of their PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Changes have been made to the game's control scheme, and an auto/run function has been added. Other various bugs have been fixed.

Rust is leaving Early Access

Facepunch Studios' RPG - Rust is leaving Early Access. The developer will continue to update and improve the game with the help of a test server. After it launches, Rust will cost 75 percent more than it does now.

Metal Gear Survive's microtransactions

Metal Gear Survive will, in fact, feature microtransactions, but the game will stay away from the pay to win model. For now. Metal Gear Survive's producer, Yuji Korekado, recently commented on the issue. In-game accessories will be fair game.

Metal Gear Survive console beta now live

Metal Gear Survive is currently having a free beta. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get to play in two co-op maps. The participants will receive some in-game bonus items when Metal Gear Survive launches in February.

It was abundantly clear to anyone but Konami that the course they decided to take with the Metal Gear series will produce a lot of disgruntled fans, as if Hideo Kojima's split with the company wasn't enough.

Metal Gear Survive is the series' first branch heading for a new genre, much like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was back in 2013, except this time Konami is going for zombie horde survival instead of Hack 'n' Slash.

PUBG's first post-launch update

PUBG's PC version got its first post-launch update. The dev team took to Steam to explain why lag and rubber-banding are so difficult to get rid of. After the patch, the team will continue to monitor the servers.

PUBG for PlayStation 4

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently available for Xbox One and PC. The game recently left Steam's early access. Bluehole has plans to eventually release their battle royale shooter for PlayStation 4 as well.

DECEMBER 28

PUBG 1.0 version to launch soon

Bluehole's battle royale will soon be leaving early access. After the launch, there will be a five - hour server maintenance. To honour PUBG's official release, I've compiled a list of five similar games you can play for free.

Metal Gear Survive beta for consoles

Konami announced that Metal Gear Survive will have a beta in January. The beta will be available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. Everyone who takes part in the beta will receive three bonus items.

Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition out now

Capcom's Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition is now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Owners of the base game can download Not a Hero DLC for free. End of Zoe DLC is included in Gold Edition, and it's also available to download as an update if you are a Season Pass owner.
