Renowned developers of immersive sims like Dishonored 2 and Deathloop, Arkane Studios Lyon, are set to announce their new project at The Game Awards on Thursday, December 8, 2023.
This is according to reliable leaker NateDrake (via ResetEra), who only revealed that Arkane will announce their next game at the show but he is not sure what this next game could be.
Xbox fans started speculating that the game is probably Dishonored 3 or Deathloop 2 but reliable Shinobi602 is hinting that this could be a brand new IP, that will have "a lot of people talking".
This little tease could suggest that Arkane are working on a popular licensed IP, but keep in mind that this is just speculation at this point. Luckily, The Game Awards are just around the corner, so we won't be waiting for too long to get this major announcement.
As with most Bethesda games since the Microsoft acquisition, we expect this new project from Arkane Lyon will be exclusive to Game Pass, meaning that it's coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Personally, I'm really hoping that this new Arkane title will be another immersive sim akin to the critically acclaimed Dishonored series.
It's what Arkane are known for and what they do best so it's probably for the best to try and improve on their earlier titles, rather than try to experiment with different genres like their sister studio Arkane Austin with Redfall.
