Microsoft is opening up another weekend of Free Play Days on Xbox consoles, allowing Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential subscribers to play select full games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S without charge for a limited time.
This Free Play Days weekend begins Thursday, January 22 and runs through Sunday, January 25. Players will be able to download and play the available games for the entire weekend, and will be able to keep progress and achievements.
Games that you buy after the free weekend will keep your save data. Titles available for Free Play Days this weekend include story-driven, co-op, and critically-acclaimed indie games.
Free Play Days Games (January 22–25)
- Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One
- South Park: Snow Day!
- This War of Mine: Final Cut
- Cult of the Lamb
All games can be downloaded and played for free during the Free Play Days weekend. Select games will be discounted should you decide to buy them following the event.
Who Can Access Free Play Days
Only users who own Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Premium, or Xbox Game Pass Essential subscriptions will be able to play the January 2026 Free Play Days titles. You’ll need to have an active subscription to one of the aforementioned tiers to download and play the games included in the event.
How to Download the Games
Downloading Free Play Days titles is simple. Here’s how:
- Go to the Xbox Store from your console
- Go to the Subscriptions tab
- Click on the Free Play Days collection
- Download games to your console
You can also initiate a download from Xbox.com and will be redirected to the Microsoft Store once you sign-in.
