Larian Studios published a few pointers for the Baldur's Gate 3 early access enjoyers ahead of launch in order to avoid a whole mess of issues.
A few of them will likely annoy the fans who have it installed, such as deleting saves and the game itself.
However, this is not without a reason and since it's a chunky download, you would do well to heed the advice.
The reason Larian told players to delete the early access version of the game, as well as the saves, is that it can cause issues with the full build. Make sure you delete the saves before the early access build.
Apparently, the devs took some steps to minimise the risk of conflict if you have the old saves but it is still highly recommended that you get rid of them. After all, they will not work in the full game so there is no loss involved.
Save deletion should be done through the early access client itself. Go to the main menu, click Load Game and then Delete Campaign to make sure. If you simply delete it in the save folder, Steam might redownload the incompatible files when you download the full game.
Besides those particular issues, Larian suggested you install the game on an SSD, update the graphics drivers and delete any mods, which will probably not be compatible with the full game either.
