Warner Bros. Games has announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch worldwide on May 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The release date was revealed at The Game Awards, where LEGO Batman himself presented a new Heroes & Villains gameplay trailer from the Batcave.
The game follows Bruce Wayne's journey from his origins to becoming Gotham's legendary protector. Players will control Batman alongside Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman, each equipped with unique abilities, progression trees, and signature gadgets. Robin wields his line launcher, Nightwing uses a battle staff, Batgirl deploys her versatile hackarang, and Catwoman fights with her whip alongside her companion kitten.
The new trailer showcased several members of Batman's Rogues Gallery, including Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Firefly, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Penguin, Ra's al Ghul, and Bane. Players will also gain access to iconic vehicles like the Batmobile from Batman: The Animated Series and the Batpod from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films to traverse the open-world Gotham City.
Pre-orders are available now for both Standard and Deluxe editions. The Standard Edition includes over 100 suits and outfits inspired by Batman's legacy across film, television, comics, and games, plus more than 20 vehicles and 250 Batcave customization props. All pre-orders receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit at launch.
The Deluxe Edition adds the Legacy Collection and Mayhem Collection DLC packs, including playable Joker and Harley Quinn characters arriving in September 2026. Deluxe Edition pre-orders also grant 72-hour early access starting May 26. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned with a release date to be announced later.
