Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is filled with characters both completely loyal to the Imperium, those who are its enemies and those who walk the line between, like the latest addition to the character's retinue options.
Owlcat Games love toying with the idea of having characters from every end of every spectrum one can imagine.
After all, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous could have us walking around with clerics and paladins or bumping the nasties with a demon. Or all of the above.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader seems to be done in the same vein as we've already been introduced to an Inquisitor and a Sister of Battle but now we get to learn more about the Cold Trader.
In some sense, Cold Traders are similar to Rogue Traders as they enjoy more freedom than the usual human in the Imperium does. The key difference is that Rogue Traders are officially sanctioned.
In contrast, Cold Traders do their deals, adventures and travels of their own volition, without wiling to be at the mercy of Imperial bureaucracy. As such, they are considered criminals, albeit ones that can be useful at times.
Jae Heydari is among the best of them and one of her goals is to be allied with a Rogue Trader as she sees a way to shield herself from her rivals that way. She is also highly motivated by power and riches so it remains to be seen whether or how we can earn her loyalty.
The way the blog post presented her, Heydari appears to be highly proficient in social aspects but it's unclear how good she is in a scrap. Then again, with a Space Wolf in your retinue, one shouldn't have to worry too much about that part.
