Valorant is one of the most popular strategic and competitive FPS titles worldwide. Aside from the competitive and unique mechanics of Valorant, players are also obsessed with in-game weapon skins, which are regularly added to the game.
While skins are readily available in the game store, the community keeps patiently waiting for the night market to arrive, as they are able to get their hands on their favourite skins at a hefty discount. Like previous acts, the night market is also right around the corner.
However, players have seemingly found out the hidden mechanic behind their favourite night market feature and it's safe to say it has enraged a large chunk of cosmetic-loving players.
Night Market's hidden mechanics leaves players enraged
The upcoming Night Market starts on April 4 and will last for the next 25 days, granting players enough time to grab the selected weapon skins they received at a discount. Unfortunately, one Twitter user ended the anticipation of Night Market by laying out its hidden mechanic.
The original poster highlighted the main reason behind everyone's Night Market being bland and full of unwanted skins. The user quoted, "The real reason your Night Market always sucks is that Exclusive and Ultra Tier skins cannot appear and skins from the previous two acts cannot appear. This makes it much more likely you get a select or deluxe skin, which no one wants in the first place."
As most skins players want to buy are exclusive or ultra-tiered, the Nightmarket becomes a pointless feature. The select and deluxe skins are heavily neglected by the community as they feature no special effects or colour variants.
Pushing them through the Night Market shows how Riot Games is discouraging players from buying the popular skins at a discount while granting them the skins they don't want at a hefty discount.
While many players do end up getting a few popular skins, the possibility of getting them has narrowed down in the past two years, as the original poster also highlighted how interest in Night Market has dropped since 2022.
