Valorant is a free-to-play first-person tactical ability-based shooter developed and published by Riot Games. The game was released in 2020 worldwide after a long period of beta-testing.
The game has since then evolved into one of the most popular shooter titles worldwide. With a massive agent roster, map and weapon pool the game receives regular updates containing new in-game content such as maps, agents and balancing changes.
With the latest update of Valorant, Riot Games is planning on releasing the Agent number 25 called "Clove." Here's a look at how Clove's abilities work in-game.
Agent 25 Clove's All Abilities Explained
Clove is a controller agent joining Valorant's agent roster on March 26, 2024, with the Episode 8 Act 2 update. Here's a look at how their abilities work in-game:
Pick-Me-Up (C)
Casting Pick-Me-Up allows Clove to instantly absorb the life essence of a fallen enemy. This boosts your health, including overhealing. The Pick-Me-Up ability is similar to Reyna's Healing ability. You are able to absorb health immediately after eliminating or damaging an enemy.
The overheal lasts for about 6 seconds before gradually fading away once the timer is up. You also gain haste during this effect, resulting in faster movement. When this ability is active, the outer edges of your screen and agent's hands will turn purple.
Meddle (Q)
Clove is able to concentrate a fragment of immortality essence, which, if thrown, degrades the life essence of those struck by the blast. You can use this simple de-buffing ability to fight for making space, or blend it with your ultimate to secure a kill or assist while remaining in the round.
Meddle is not the usual decay ability that Viper or Killjoy have. It stays straight for about 5 seconds and can be thrown from a greater distance. It is a more aggressive decay than the other agents, who already have decay abilities.
Ruse (E)
Clove's mind imagines a view of the battlefield from above when using Ruse, similar to Astra's meditation stance. Using their essence, they are able to create vision-obscuring clouds or smoke even after death. The Ruse abilities must be purchased from the buy menu before the start of every round.
With Clove, you'll be to smoke for your team even after you die in a round. However, the smoke range will be reduced greatly, so where you die will matter a lot for using the smoking potential of Clove properly. Previously, the smoking range of close was global, however, Riot Games decided to cut it short by limiting the range into a certain limit.
Not Dead Yet (X)
Not Dead Yet is Clove's ultimate ability. Clove defies death by activating their immortality essence. To stabilize their form, they must remove the life energy of an opponent.
If you die while your ultimate is ready, you have a few seconds to resurrect yourself. To stay alive, however, you must earn a kill or assist in a short period of time. This skill may help you in covering important areas after death or recovering from overheating. The devs quote "Simply, sometimes ulting is simply the best option, even if you can't secure a kill or assist." So, even if you end up getting a kill or assist, you can easily help create pressure for your team during tight rounds by simply reviving yourself.
Clove has an interesting ability set including one of the strongest ultimates in the game. Moreover, the smoking ability of Clove will surely take them into competitive agent meta. The newest Irish agent of Valorant joins the game with the Episode 8, Act 2 update on March 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM PT/ 11:00 PM CET.
