The Witcher game codenamed Sirius, which is a multiplayer project by studio Molasses Flood might have co-op and PvE content, according to the latest job listing.
You may recall that CD Projekt Red revealed the future of The Witcher franchise a couple of months ago , confirming that they have several The Witcher projects in the works including The Witcher game codenamed Sirius.
Sirius is being developed by The Molasses Flood studio and is confirmed to be different from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and other games from the iconic trilogy. It's a multiplayer project but still with some storytelling and that's about everything we know about the game.
However, recent job listings suggest that in addition to traditional multiplayer, Sirius could also feature co-op aspects as well as PvE content. The ideal candidate would need to have "experience with co-op multiplayer design" as well as "experience prototyping in Unreal Engine on multiplayer Co-Op/PvE titles."
Now, this is where things get a bit interesting since the job listing pretty much gives us an idea of how Sirius could play.
If we had to guess, we would say that Sirius is a Monster Hunter -like MMO where players can team up to bring down various beats and monsters from The Witcher universe. The Monster Hunter-like genre is very popular lately with new games like Wild Hearts from EA and Koei Tecmo , and rumoured Horizon MMO and Xbox exclusive from Certain Affinity.
A Witcher game where you track down and kill monsters, get loot and then use it to craft better armour and weapons certainly sounds amazing. Add a bit of CD Projekt Red's legendary storytelling and that's a recipe for something special.
Whether or not Sirius is such a project, it remains to be seen. We doubt CD Projekt Red will reveal it anytime soon since the game is still early in development and probably won't be coming for a couple of more years.
Regardless of the game's release date, we'll be eagerly awaiting the official announcement and trailers as we can never get enough of this iconic franchise.
