This year's The Game Awards show will be held on December 10, 2020, it's been officially announced. The ceremony will be live streamed from Los Angeles, London and Tokyo.
The Game Awards, one of the biggest gaming shows of the year will be happening this year, it's been officially confirmed. The ceremony will take place in three different locations - Los Angeles, London and Tokyo - on December 10, 2020.
The live stream will be available in 4K resolution and the ceremony will be airing from audience-less, in-studio locations. This year, we will also see new innovation in accessibility award, which recognizes software and hardware developers that bring accessibility features, tech and content to games.
The Game Awards host, Geoff Keighley, told Variety that he always knew that the show needs to happen this year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The message was also like, 'no, you should still try and do the show in a big way.' So it's not like we're doing it with a drastically reduced budget or it’s just gonna be me in one location," he adds. "Let's do three cities. Let's try and make it a big moment for the industry."
As always, you can also expect to see a lot of world exclusives. You may remember that Microsoft officially revealed Xbox Series X on last year's show, while Hellblade: Senua's Saga also got a reveal trailer.
CD Projekt Red also had a Behind the Music trailer for their upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 so it's safe to say that this year's show will also bring some sweet announcements and trailers.
You will be able to watch The Game Awards show via social media channels, YouTube and Twitch.
