The Ascent recently saw the expansion that brought along melee weapons and also provided additional quality-of-life improvements, including more resolution support.

Melee weapons have become a new thing in an otherwise firefight-focused world of The Ascent . Not long after the expansion was deployed, another update followed, bringing a new melee weapon called uPlus bat to the fold.

The uPlus bat can be dropped by thugs anywhere in the world so just keep grinding until you get one.

That said, there are other weapons on offer from the DLC itself and they are technically new since the update and the expansion happened in the same day.

Besides uPlus bat, the update brought along improved support for ultrawide display mode for the following resolutions:

  • 1024×768
  • 1152×864
  • 1152×872
  • 1280×720
  • 1280×800
  • 1280×1024
  • 1440×900
  • 1600×900
  • 1600×1200
  • 1680×1050
  • 1920×1080
  • 1920×1200
  • 2560×1440
  • 3440×1440

One important bug fix also appeared in the patch notes, stating the players will no longer lose keyboard input after interacting with the gunsmith in Cluster 13.

Additionally, players should no longer crash when taking a Taxi from the CorpZone to Arcology: Highstreet. By crash, we mean the game crashing, not a futuristic flying vehicle bumping into something.

On top of that, the notes mentioned a lot of fixes related to gameplay and co-op, the latter of which has proven problematic in the past.
