Super Buckyball Tournament got a free to play demo equivalent, called the Pre-season, which may confuse some interested gamers but it's easy enough to try out.

You can already download and play Super Buckyball Tournament Pre-season on Steam for free. This free trial period will last until December 6, 2020, and it's currently unknown whether the actual game will be paid for or go for the free to play model. We will probably get to know more about it in the months leading up to Early Access, which will happen in the first half of 2021.

In this game, the players will match up in teams of three and the core idea is the same as in Rocket League - use every possible way to score and prevent opponents from doing so.

The twist comes with the players, who have unique abilities as opposed to Rocket League's cars. Some excel at offence, others at defence, but all crafted to be able to synergies with the rest of the team. There are six characters available in the Pre-season.

Besides the regular mode, there will be two Arcade modes - Dodgeball and Mayhem. The first one is self-explanatory while the latter is probably similar to Mayhem in Overwatch, with massively reduced cooldowns on abilities.

Pre-season may be limited to a few weeks but it's also got a season pass with 60 levels apparently, complete with special rewards and challenges.
