Well known tech YouTube channel "ElAnalistaDeBits" released a video comparing the visuals of the freshly-released Forspoken demo trailer to those of 2020 reveal trailer. The results are interesting, to say the least.

A PlayStation 5 demo for Square Enix 's next action role-playing game Forspoken was released two days ago and it didn't take long for people to start noticing the differences between the current visuals and the ones from 2020 reveal trailer.

Famous tech YouTube channel "ElAnalistaDeBits" stepped up and put those the demo and the reveal trailer on the bench. You can see the results in the video above.

As the video shows, lighting, textures, geometry, and detail density are clearly lower compared to the reveal trailer from 2020. Also, the ray-tracing mode in the game appears to lack ray-tracing of shadows for various elements, including vegetation, so playing the game in this mode could not be the best experience for PlayStation 5 users.

The description of this video includes a list of all the elements we may anticipate from the upcoming action RPG game, along with extensive assessments of the changes and contrasts between those two trailers.

Keep in mind that this is only a demo, not the final version of the game and in the next month and a half, many things can change. The game is set to be released on January 24, 2023, and will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC .

This is hardly the first-time players are "tricked" with beautiful graphics of the reveal trailers, only to be disappointed seeing the final product of the game. You probably recall the most obvious downgrade ever in the history of video games back in 2013, when Ubisoft announced the first Watch Dogs game.

While Forspoken's downgrade doesn't seem to be that drastic, it's certainly still disappointing to see such tricks in the AAA video games space in 2022. Be better, publishers.
