GSC Game World, the developers of the iconic Stalker series have released a new teaser for their upcoming title Stalker 2. It's a short one, captured in-engine and it's safe to say it looks pretty good.
Stalker is probably one of the most beloved open-world post-apocalyptic shooter games of all time but despite the interest from players, GSC Game World, the developers of Stalker games have not released any new games for more than ten years. The last one, Stalker: Call of Pripyat released way back in 2010 and it's one of the best games in the series.
As you may know, the devs have officially announced Stalker 2, which is coming sometime in 2021 to PC and Xbox Series X|S via Game Pass. The game got a small teaser trailer at the Xbox show but today, GSC Game World have shared more, though it's still just a tiny fraction of the game.
The teaser trailer, which you can see above is captured entirely in-engine, which means what you're seeing in the trailer closely represents the game's visuals. However, we've seen similar trailers with "in-engine" label before, which did not quite live to the hype in the final release so don't get all excited just yet. That being said, we don't have any doubts that Stalker 2 will be visually impressive.
Here is the official description of the trailer:
"As developer GSC Game World puts it, this teaser represents "how the game actually feels: fast-paced change of scenery, ominous landscapes and the ever-present feeling of an inevitable danger accompanied by a barely-distinguishable guitar soundtrack."
Stalker 2 is officially hitting the shelves sometime in 2021 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game is yet to be announced for PS5.
