Walt Williams, the writer on Spec Ops: The Line, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Star Wars Squadrons has joined Sony's Insomniac Games studio as a Story Lead.

Insomniac Games, the studio behind some great PlayStation exclusives such as Marvel's Spider-Man, Miles Morales and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are seemingly busy with unannounced projects, that should be coming to PlayStation 5 in the coming years.

And it looks like Insomniac are staffing for these new projects. Today, the writer on Spec Ops: The Line, Walt Williams, has confirmed that he has joined the team as a Story Lead on a mysterious project. Wiliams is known for his work on Star Wars Battlefront 2, Star Wars Squadrons, and the mentioned Spec Ops: The Line.

He also wrote a book named Significant Zero which provides a behind-the-scenes look at how today's blockbuster video games are made. It's safe to say Insomniac Games will certainly be happy to have him.

While Insomniac Games are still not as big as Sony's other blockbuster studios like Naughty Dog, it's interesting to see that the studio is expanding, which makes us pretty exciting for the future of PS5 games. We know of at least three internal teams - Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank and the VR team that made some games in partnership with Oculus.

Now that Sony officially announced PSVR 2, it's possible we're getting AAA VR game from Insomniac but until we get more info, take this as speculation and nothing more.
