Having launched mere six days ago, Sea of Thieves' success is all the much sweeter. Rare's adventure has come in first, ahead of highly anticipated titles such as the and Ni No Kuni.
Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered came in fourth, ahead of FIFA 18 and Burnout Paradise Remaster. Grand Theft Auto 5 refuses to leave and has come in ahead of EA Sports' UFC 3 and Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The full list is as follows:

Disregarding the obvious conflict of interest here, Sea of Thieves' popularity is no wonder, seeing as how it's got the head honcho of Microsoft's Xbox, Mike Ybara, hooked.
In fact, Ybarra has issued a challenge to any Sea of Thieves crew that if they manage to beat him and his crew - they all get a full year of Xbox Live! subscription. Well, if there was ever a time and place to "get back at Microsoft", perhaps now is the time. After all, now it even pays, right?
Sea of Thieves has enjoyed a meteoric start to its career and its success has even taken Rare aback. The game managed to hit a million users in first 48 hours, with reported figures of 5,000 players joining every minute, which is something even the company failed to anticipate.
Even though there were some issues with logging in and occasional performance hitches, Sea of Thieves developers are working through all the issues in a transparent manner, ironing out the creases as they go along.
All in all, it appears like Sea of Thieves' voyage to the top of the Sea of UK Charts has been a success. Next please.
